Assuming we were living in a warped, parallel universe...

Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 07:07:04 PM PDT

We might conceivably expect something like this:

"I think that since we now know Sen. McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold. I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Clinton with respect to her candidacy,"

Except we know that Sen. Obama didn't say this...

(Thanks in advance for following the jump)

"I have met the enemy, and he is me": an apology.

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 05:11:23 PM PDT

I'm glad I'm a Democrat, and I'm glad that we have strong candidates at many levels of elected government. I'm glad that DailyKos has been a pretty much indispensable part of the growth of the return of the grassroots for the Democratic Party, and I'm glad that I, like so many others, have had the chance to interact and communicate.

But I owe everyone here an apology for the ways I've been interacting lately.

More on the other side...

Daily Reminder: Hillary is not the Anti-Christ.

Mon Nov 19, 2007 at 03:38:14 AM PDT

Every Republican, including Novak and Drudge, would dearly love to see the Democrats divide over personality and style. This post is a reminder to those whose candidate of choice is not Sen. Clinton not to drink the GOP
kool-aid.

Kos: Congrats on coming in #12

Fri Nov 02, 2007 at 05:02:53 AM PDT

Not that I read the (Tory) Daily Telegraph with any regularity, but Marcos' coming in at no. 12 on the Telegraph's list of the 100 most influential liberals is  not only well deserved recognition for his accomplishments in bringing us all together, but also for the real grassroots in the United States.

So much for the MSM; where you all get your news?

Sun Jun 04, 2006 at 06:29:04 AM PDT

Malcolm's critique of Salon's Farhad Manjoo's attempted take-down of RFK Jr.'s Rolling Stone article on Ohio voting in 2004 led me to wonder about how members of the Kos community are getting their news these days...

Anyone notice any problems with sound quality of Countdown this p.m.?

Fri Mar 10, 2006 at 06:08:35 PM PDT

Was listening to Countdown this evening (3/10) at the 8 p.m. broadcast; sound kept fading in and out...

Explore this opportunity to make mischief

Mon Jul 25, 2005 at 05:03:55 AM PDT

One of the few advantages of being on Don Wildman's American Family Association e-mail list is the opportunity to use their mass e-mail campaigns for a little samizidat of one's own. In this case, the Good Reverend would like his myrmidons to e-mail Sen. Schumer concering the Roberts nomination.

UK: "No long-term imperialist ambitions" in Iraq...

Mon Jul 18, 2005 at 05:19:10 AM PDT

The UK's defense minister, John Reid, made a bit of a Freudian slip (perhaps two) when confirming Britain's plans to reduce its Iraqi presence...

From the warped parallel universe dept.: Rummy at the Opry

Another War College speech lie - "full sovereignty"

"Blair jumps the gun on Iraqi veto"

(Sigh) Another Bush lie - this time of Abu Ghraib

Wed May 26, 2004 at 03:39:54 AM PDT

From Jonathan Weisman in the Washington Post today:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A55622-2004May25.html

Bottom line: the money to tear down and rebuild Abu Ghraib just isn't there unless Dubya shorts something else in Iraq.

Great final graf from Herbert's NYT column today.

The Bush falling off the bike meme is wildfire...

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/24/opinion/24HERB.html?hp

"There's a terrible sense of dread filtering across America at the moment and it's not simply because of the continuing fear of terrorism and the fact that the nation is at war. It's more frightening than that. It grows out of the suspicion that we all may be passengers in a vehicle that has made a radically wrong turn and is barreling along a dark road, with its headlights off and with someone behind the wheel who may not know how to drive."
